For my project, I am learning about different volunteer-based organizations in New York. I am trying to find out why so many students do not volunteer,  and find a way to help get more students involved. 

Volunteering has always been something I wanted to take part in, however, I never knew how to get involved. After spending more time thinking about this I soon realized I was not the only one facing this issue. In fact, most people my age face that same issue of not knowing where to start, and thus do not volunteer. While there are many additional reasons why some don't volunteer, the reason for not knowing how to start, or where to volunteer seemed like something fixable. This inspired me in my project as I wanted to create something that was not available to me but could have been very useful, something that would make the process of getting involved less intimidating and more straightforward.
