Oil and 2 popcorn kernels are added to a medium pot that has been placed over high heat. Wait until both kernels have popped before covering the pot. When all of the remaining kernels have popped and there is a 2-3 second pause between popping noises, add the remaining kernels, cover the pot, and shake it continually. Put the freshly popped popcorn in a bowl and sprinkle it with salt right away. Place aside.
Preheat oven to 210°F and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper
1/4 cup of cold water should be added to the small saucepan that contains the sugar. Set over low heat and whisk continuously to let the sugar melt thoroughly.
1-5 $
2/3 of a cup of Un-popped kernels
2 tbsp of vegetable oil
1 cup of white sugar
4 tbsp soften unsalted butter
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp vanilla
Authors note: This is far from healthy but very fun to make and eat with friends
Steps contiued:
When the mixture begins to boil, stop stirring and let it continue to boil until it turns a deep amber color, smoke starts to emerge, and an instant-read thermometer reads 320°F. Once the mixture has reached a boil, DO NOT stir it at all.
Add the butter after turning off the heat in the saucepan. Do not panic if it foams and sputters. Stir in the vanilla, baking soda, and salt until well blended.
Stirring continuously, drizzle the caramel over the popped popcorn until it is evenly covered. Pour the popcorn onto the prepared baking sheet, distributing it evenly so that it covers the whole surface.
Finally Cook for an hour and enjoy
Mix ingredients (without nuts) in mason jar. Close tightly and refrigerate for at least 5 hours or up to 5 days.
Uncover, stir well, and taste. If you prefer more sweetness, stir in some sweetener. Top with the nuts just before eating.
