The GCPS Instructional Framework, developed in 2017, highlights GCPS district priorities for achieving excellent student outcomes, from
teaching that is aligned to standards,
to the written, taught, and tested curriculum,
to students engaging in reading, thinking, writing, listening and speaking,
to the use of practices that are rigorous and engaging for students
An essential piece of this instructional framework is the Core Instructional Model for each content area which defines essential instructional practices and principles that are key to moving students toward mastery of standards and should be evident in all GCPS classrooms. These include:
Acquired Knowledge and Skills in each core content area
Instructional Strategies & Contexts for each core content area
Use the menu at the top of this page to explore these three areas and learn how they can support the GCPS Instructional Framework.
