The PD Request form has been modified to align our school and district professional development with our District Strategic Plan. The link here will force you to make a copy and rename it with your Training’s name. There are drop-down choices and check boxes in several of the sections. When sending in a PD request, please name it the Title of your training and the date, share it with Alisa King at kinga@gcs.k12.nc.us and Dr. Janita Allen at allenjr@gcs.k12.nc.us as editors. PD Requests need to be submitted 3 weeks prior to the training.
Our team is trying to streamline the process for receiving credit. We are no longer requiring attendance codes. This will really put the focus on attendance. To do this, we need your help reviewing the importance of signing in and giving time during PD to encourage your teachers to complete the attendance form.
To make attendance for ‘In Person’ sessions quick and easy, we are offering QR codes as an option. The instructor will receive a link and a QR code that will take participants to the same Google form attendance sheet. Hopefully, you will find these faster and easier than typing in a link. For instructors, click here for a document that gives suggestions on how to share the QR codes with your group.
The new process for completing a GCPS hosted PD is: Register, Attend & Sign the Attendance Sheet, Wait to be sent a follow up email from Wisdomwhere. If your name was on the attendance sheet, the email will give you the link to the evaluation. If your name was not on the attendance sheet, you will be asked to unregister.
The evaluation should be completed within 2 weeks of the last session of a course. This is so we can send evaluation feedback to the presenter in a timely manner.
Note: Out of District Certificates should be emailed to professional @gcs.k12.nc.us.
