Following is my short bio (updated 1-Feb-2026)

Dr. Suhas S. Gajre (सुहास गाजरे) is the Principal of the Government College of Engineering, Jalgaon—a Government Autonomous Institute in North Maharashtra—having assumed the role on November 9, 2023. He is also working member of the Governing Board of Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE). 

A distinguished academician, he was honored as the “Best Teacher (Urban)” by Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University (SRTMU), Nanded, for the 2023-24 academic year. He further strengthened his administrative expertise by earning a “Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Level 5 Certificate in Management and Leadership” through the AICTE-UKIERI ‘Technical Leadership Development Program,’ mentored by Dudley College of Technology, England, UK. 

Prior to his current appointment, Dr. Gajre served as a Professor in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering at SGGSIET, Nanded. During his long tenure at SGGSIET, he held several key leadership positions, most recently serving as Dean (Innovation, Incubation, and Linkages), where he spearheaded the institute's innovation, startup, and entrepreneurship activities. In this capacity, he played a pivotal role in establishing the ‘SARVAH Incubation Foundation,’ a Section-8 non-profit company dedicated to startup support.

Between October 2020 and July 2023, Dr. Gajre served as Dean (Incubation and Procurement), managing both the innovation ecosystem and institutional procurement. He was also a Co-coordinator for the SGGSIET-AICTE IDEA Lab, providing students with a platform for prototyping their innovations. Previously, from August 2018 to July 2020, he served as Dean (Industry Liaison) and In-charge of Training & Placement; notably, during this period, the institute achieved the 4th Rank in ARIIA 2020 within the Government and Government-aided category. Professionally, he is recognized as a Fellow of IETE, a Fellow of IE(I), and a life member of ISTE. Dr. Gajre earned his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from IIT Delhi in 2007. He also holds B.E. and M.E. degrees in Electronics from SGGSIET, Nanded, graduating in 1990 and 1995 respectively, and achieving the 2nd merit rank in the University for both.

An active researcher, he has published over 50 peer-reviewed research papers in journals and conferences. To date, 8 scholars have completed their Ph.D. under his guidance, and he is currently supervising 6 more research scholars. His academic contributions have a global reach, with visits to London, Glasgow, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, and Seri Iskandar for keynote addresses, session chairing, and research collaborations. His primary research interests include Biomedical Signal and Image Processing, VLSI design, and fostering startup ecosystems through innovation and incubation.
