• Schedule is usually 8am-4:30pm, no nights, with the possibility of an afternoon 1PM-9 PM (which is largely admits and rarely busy). 

• 48-bed acute care medical surgical facility treating Veterans with a range of specialties and a 16-bed inpatient mental health facility.

• Four Star Hospital Quality rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

• The Fort Harrison VAMC has an infusion clinic in which they give biologics and chemotherapies to patients. 

There are 8 hospitalist team members who serve as attendings. 

Dr. Mark Silverstein, MD, Jennifer Schade, and Roxanne Ore are key points of contact with whom we can connect those interested in a rotation here.

Because case volume is lower in rural areas, it's important to be proactive and take opportunities as they come. Introduce yourself to people and request to be notified if possible when things come up (procedures, important cases, etc.). We want this rotation to be high-yield. 

We will put you in contact with the VA administrative staff to complete standard and necessary VA credentialing.
