Medical School: University of Arizona College of Medicine
I grew up in Leupp, Arizona, a small community on the western edge of Navajo Nation, and attended Northern Arizona University for my undergraduate studies. After college, I completed a two-year post-baccalaureate research fellowship with the NIH and attended medical school at the University of Arizona - Phoenix.
Growing up on the reservation, I experienced the need for physicians in rural communities like mine. During medical school, I completed the majority of my clerkships in rural Arizona and New Mexico, which further solidified my goal of returning home to my community to provide healthcare to my people.
I chose the University of Utah for many reasons, but one of the most important being the Rural Pathway for Med-Peds. I am excited to continue training in rural communities and look forward to my future rural rotations in residency.
