Associate Professor of Mathematics
Associate Professor of Mathematics
I am an applied mathematician working in the area of fluid dynamics. I am generally interested in collaboratively improving our understanding of systems and devices in bio-engineering.
My research focuses on analytical and computational modeling of problems arising in the dynamics of fluids and their interactions with suspended structures or boundaries. It addresses the theoretical, stochastic and numerical aspects of such systems and the inherent simplifications often being made in their description.
I teach a varitey of applied and basic courses at all levels and for all majors. In each class, my goal is to get over the fear of math, to either give the students some practical skills or a deeper understanding of the intricacies of mathematics, and to help them succeed in their studies.
