❓ What device can I use to complete the work online?
For the most part, any computer can be used to complete work. We do recommend a Mac or Windows desktop, laptop, or a Chromebook for the best experience. Mobile phones work well for watching videos that your teacher has posted, but they're not the best device for completing work.
❓ How can I find out more information about Remote Learning?
Temple ISD has put together a comprehensive guide for parents to understand the differences between on-campus and remote learning as well as the safety precautions we are taking for all staff, students, parents, and guests.

❓ When my child tries to access his assignments, the screen keeps saying that we don't have permission or that we need to request permission. What's wrong?
Your child needs to be logged into the Chrome Browser (Google) with their own profile from school. Check the little picture or icon in the upper right hand corner of the browser. If it's your personal profile, you will receive "access denied" messages.
But it's an easy fix!

❓ My child's teacher is telling him to go to Google Classroom to get his assignments. Can you help me with this?
Certainly! Google Classroom is your child's "home base" for the remote class learning: assignments, videos to watch, class announcements and information, and links to join their class mates live by video conference. To make things easier for you, we've asked all teachers in Kindergarten though Grade 8 to follow the same format.

❓ The teacher is asking us to connect to the classroom using Microsoft Teams for video meetings and webinars. We haven't used this before. What do I need to do?
Microsoft Teams is free and available to all of our students. For now, they are just going to use the video conferencing part of the program. Your child will be able to get to all of their video meetings by a link that will be supplied either in Schoology or Google Classroom.
❓ My elementary child is going to take the NWEA MAP Growth Test. How do I do that?
This is an assessment that we give 3 times a year to help us learn your child's skill level and next steps. If your child is a remote learner, there are a few steps to get ready for the test.

We are here to help you with technical support accessing your child’s school accounts. Please call us Monday through Thursday between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Simply call (254) 215-6177 for help!
For help with lesson or activities, please contact your child’s teacher using the email address or phone number provided to you
Your child can enter a help desk ticket at https://techspot.tisd.org. Our technology department will then contact you on how to receive a temporary device.
Chromebook Charger- If your child needs a charger for the Chromebook, there will be a $25.00 charge for a replacement due at the time it is given out. Please create a help desk ticket for this as well.
