The provisional version of the dissertation document is submitted according to the following procedure:
The student must enter their personal page in SIGARRA (M.EGI)
Select the “Projects / Dissertations / Theses” menu (right-hand column)
Select the “Documents” menu on the new page (right-hand column). The following page will appear:
Select the “Insert Document” menu on the new page (right-hand column). The following page will appear:
Some pre-filled fields will appear on the new page:
Document Type: Dissertation - discussion version
Document Title ("Título do Documento"): Title of the proposal. This is the Final Title. You MUST NOT CHANGE THE TITLE as this may invalidate the jury's constitution and thus invalidate the exam.
Authorization for Publication ("Autorização para Publicação"): select “Yes” or “Sim, com perído de embargo” if the document needs to remain confidential for a certain period of time (maximum limit is 36 months).
Select the Add Document ("Adicionar Documento") icon to insert the dissertation document (marked with an * symbol).
A window will open allowing you to transfer a ocument from the student's personal area to the dissertation file.
You must first “Upload document"and then transfer it to “Documents associated with the process” using the “>>” buttons (they can also do the opposite operation if necessary).
After this operation, go back to the previous page and select the document you want. Then press the Update Documents ("Atualizar Documentos") button. Only after this operation will the document be inserted into Sigarra.
To submit the document, press the “SUBMIT DOCUMENTS” button and then the “CONFIRM SUBMISSION” button.
The document has been submitted. After this operation it will no longer be possible to change the submitted document.
The supervisor will receive a notification to approve the document submitted in SIGARRA.
It is mandatory to submit a final version of the dissertation document.
This submission is made in SIGARRA and can only be made after the classification of the exam has been entered into SIGARRA by the DEGI secretariat (the process is in the phase: "Fazer Alterações").
The procedures to be adopted are as follows:
Prepare a new version of the document according to the jury's recommendations
Send this version to the supervisor for approval. This process must be repeated until the supervisor approves the final version.
Once the supervisor has approved the final version, you must submit the new version in pdf format.
The final version of the dissertation document must be submitted according to the following procedure:
The student must enter their personal page on SIGARRA (M.EGI)
Select the “Projects / Dissertations / Theses” menu (right-hand column)
Select the ‘Documents’ menu on the new page (right-hand column)
A page will open with a table called “List of Provisional Documents”. This table contains the provisional document for the dissertation you submitted previously.
You should delete the provisional document (on the X icon)
Select the "Insert Document" menu (right-hand column) and then select the "Add Document" icon to insert the final Dissertation document (box marked with a * symbol)
Then click on "Submit Documents"
There should be 2 tables available, one containing the List of Active Documents (final version) and one with the List of Previous Documents (version inserted for discussion)
NOTE: As long as the student's file has not been finalized by SERAC, the student has not completed the course, nor can they apply for the respective course certificate.
