Emergency Procedure Summary
In the event of a camp-wide emergency, 3 siren blasts will be sounded.
1) Proceed to the nearest muster point - Deer Field, Cabin Field (beside Wade Lodge), or the entrance to Kitchener Field. If that muster point is unsafe, proceed to the next nearest muster station.
2) Upon arrival, perform a headcount of your section.
3) Wait for instruction from the Event Team. The Event Team may initiate a search for lost youth, order the road cleared for arrival of emergency services, order portions of the property off-limits during an emergency, or order a shelter-in place or evacuation.
4) If a Shelter-In-Place order occurs:
Colonies and Packs are to proceed to their campsite and shelter in their expedition tent or garage shelter (the weather-resistant shelter they have brought to meet the Camping Facilities Standards).
Troops are to enter Wade Lodge
Companies are to shelter in the Pole Barn
Event Team members domiciled at HQ will shelter in the nearest of the Wade Lodge or Pole Barn.
5) If an on-site evacuation is ordered, section Scouters-in-Charge shall initiate an early pickup with their Home Contact. The Event Team will instruct participants whether they are to pack up their campsites first or evacuate ASAP.
6) If an off-site evacuation is ordered, Sections will proceed on the evacuation route to the village of Apple Hill, and St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 3737 Old Orchard St.
