Thrailkill Travels - Come Along for a Semester Capstone EXAMPLE
Grapevine works hard to preserve Texas traditions. There is no better example of that than, Nash Farm! The Nash Family migrated to Texas from the Upper South ahead of the Civil War to continue farming. The settled on the Grape Vine Prairie, a part of the Blackland Prairie, that boasts rolling hills of fertile soil. This part of Texas is located on the border of the Blackland Prairie and Cross Timbers. The farm was originally 110 acres and purchased in 1859. They started their life on the Texas prairies in a log cabin, but the current house was built in 1869. Today, you can visit 5 acres of the original farm and see the original house (restored in 2008) and the family cemetery.

I grew up right down the road from Nash Farm & took field trips there when I was young. Now, we typically visit Nash Farm around the holidays to see the special flair they celebrate with! These pictures are from October 2022...it appears Theo was only in it for the Funnel Cakes! :)
