WICOR Summer Series: Building Disciplinary Literacy with AVID Weekly
This session will give participants an opportunity to learn how to use AVID Weekly (available to 6-12 teachers!) Participants will build on their knowledge of disciplinary literacy, learn how to navigate AVID Weekly digital resources, and have time to explore lessons and texts.

Participants will experience the focused note-taking process as a tool to process their learning throughout the module, using a graphic organizer or note-taking system of their choice. WICOR Summer Series: Interactive Notebooks for ALL
This session explore the why and how of an Interactive Notebook (INB) as a tool for supporting students’ learning. Teachers will learn the process of setting up an entry in the notebook utilizing the model of right side for direct input and left side for processing output of each entry. Participants will engage in a variety of collaborative learning structures that can be applied when planning lessons utilizing INBs. This will allow their students to dive deeper into the content and take ownership of their learning

In a Collaborative Study Group (CSG), students identify a specific question from a content area, collaborate to develop and deepen their understanding through Socratic inquiry, and apply their new learning in order to enhance classroom performance.
