I'm excited to share that The Bell is accepting applications for the 7th annual Summer Youth Podcast Academy through May 17. This is the non-profit that houses the Youth Journalism Coalition, and is a fantastic opportunity (especially for younger students who may not have qualified for the J4A Summer Newsroom Internship!).
This three-week workshop offers immersive, hands-on training for students to create original podcast episodes. Participants will also receive mentorship from professional storytellers, editors, and producers.
Program dates: July 27 to August 14

Program is a unpaid, 20-hour, week-long program designed to give students the experience to see how the pediatric healthcare field is by combining skills from workshops and shadowing. Throughout the internship, the goal will be to answer questions and shine career paths in healthcare with a focus on children's health.
After completing the 20 hour program, students will receive a Certificate of Completion.
When:
Session 1: July 20th - 24th
Session 2: August 17th - 21st
Who: Between 16 - 18 years old and/or an incoming High School Junior or Senior as of Fall 2026.
