Google Sites Update!

The most exciting Google Update (IMO) is the new Sites platform – it’s about time!! It’s easy to use and significantly more attractive! I’m loving it.

HERE’s a look at what I’ve done w my SS site so far to give you a sense of what it can look like for an academic class. This Instructional Coaching site was made with the new Google Sites! If you’re comfortable with Google Classroom, this will a breeze for you. It’s in beta phase, so there are some updates still to come.

To find the new sites: go to sites (in the waffle) and you’ll see a “new google sites” option. Click it and the rest is easy. Lastly, I’ve found that it’s easy to cut and paste links, etc. from my original sites.

Discovery Education: Classroom Resources

Sarah A. shared this back in March, but I thought I’d share again because IT’S AWESOME.

Discovery Education has made it super easy to search for and share videos with students. The content is incredible- especially for science and history classes (no advertisements like some You Tube videos). When you find a video you can easily share it to Google Classroom, download it or share via email.

You can also make classes within the site.

HERE’s a link to it. Simply sign in with Google.

Awesome Updates in Google Slides & Classroom!

You may have noticed that there’s a new element in Google Slides. When you are in presentation mode, there’s now a “laser pointer” and “presenter view” option- both awesome!

If you’ve used Socrative or Today’s Meet or Padlet, you will LOVE this. You can now engage your audience through Google Slides! Game. Changer.

Check out THIS video. It explains each feature.
