We have partnered with Maro to improve our ability to screen students for mental health concerns. Among other things, the screening tools may help counselors and other professionals to identify depression, suicide risk, and other mental health issues. Although the screening is voluntary, we highly recommend it. If you would like to opt-out of the screening for your child, please click HERE. Your child will also be able to opt-out of the screening. You may also opt out at any time in the future, but the opt-out will only apply going forward. If you would like to opt your child back in, please reach out to your school’s counselor or the team member at your child’s school who is responsible for screening implementation.
Note: the screening tools available through Maro are only used to identify potential mental health issues. The screenings are not diagnostic tools and do not form the basis for treatment. Maro did not develop the screening tools on the platform; instead, all of the screening tools on Maro are electronic versions of screening tools that were originally developed for use on paper.
The results of the screening will be confidential and will only be disclosed pursuant to applicable law. Maro will, however, retain the raw results and may use them for research and platform enhancement.
