What values and principles are reflected in the symbols of our country?

How does understanding of similarities and differences of people from diverse backgrounds increase awareness of beliefs and traditions of others?
How do different cultures make up one nation?
Provocative:
How do cultures come together to stay connected as a community?
What traditions, songs, stories, or folklore are similar and different across cultures?
