Discipline Plan
The class alongside the teacher created a social contract that we all agreed upon. If students choose to break the social contract the consequences are the following:
1) Redirection using a verbal warning to follow the social contract. Students will be verbally asked the four questions from Capturing Kids’ Hearts (What are you doing?, What are you supposed to be doing?, Are you doing it?, What are you going to do about it?).
2) If misbehavior continues, students will be asked to complete a written reflection on how they broke their social contract in another teacher's classroom. Students will also have to include a plan on how they will change their behavior in the classroom.
3) If misbehavior continues, students will be asked to complete a written reflection on how they broke their social contract on the bench during their recess time. Students will also have to include a plan on how they will change their behavior in the classroom.
4) Phone call home to their parents to create a plan on how to support the student in the classroom.
5) Violation form will be completed if steps 1 through 3 have shown to be unsuccessful.

About Ms. Martin
My name is Ashley Martin and I am so excited to be working with your child and family this year! This is my 2nd year teaching. Last year I taught 5th grade here at GIS! I received my bachelors degree in Liberal Studies (2020), teaching credential (2022), and masters degree (2023) from Sacramento State. When I’m not at school, I enjoy playing co-ed softball, going to the gym, playing card games, and spending time with my friends and family.
