LRC staff and are on hand to support you with using the resources, software and equipment (PC, Macs, printing and scanning). 

Staff can guide you with presentations, assignment layout, software and research skills, digital blogs, dissertations, referencing etc.

The software, tools and systems available for HE academic support include:

Workshops

Our team of staff offer in-depth and tailor-made workshops to meet your requirements. 

Workshops may be booked on a 1:1 basis or in small groups for using these software applications and also for support with researching using the digital resources, referencing, document layout, preparing for electronic submission and hard copy printing.

They cover Google applications, Office, researching, CV writing and Adobe Creative Suite.

Academic research for your dissertation

LRC staff are on hand to support you to find resources, both printed and digital, to build a comprehensive reading list of credible academic sources to inform your dissertation and other major projects.

Hosted by EBSCO Discovery Service is used to search all library resources including online databases and allows higher education students to access a wealth of useful academic resources.

You must be logged into your college Chrome account to use this resource.

Use the Search box to search using Keywords, Title or Author or click here.

Narrow your list of search results using the filters/limiters.

Resources available using authentication

Off site access to some resources below may require you to search for Chichester College Group in the list of institutions and / or signing in to your O365 log in and IAmCloud account using <studentnumber>@stu.gbmc.ac.uk and your normal password.

The link below gives instructions on how to add multi-factor authentication to your college Microsoft Outlook 365 account, to give access to the digital resources off-campus.

Click on the button below to report technical problems accessing any of our databases, digital resources, e-journals or e-books.  Please give as many details as possible, so we can identify or replicate the problem.

Planet EStream

Gives HE students to access to a media library of over 4000 uploaded videos + TV programmes (including YouTube) covering hundreds of subjects and is a fantastic resource for HE students.

turnitin 

Your teacher may set up online assignments submissions on Turnitin, to take advantage of its originality check features.

Stan Winston school of Character Arts

Professional online tutorials for character creation and special effects.  Ideal for prop students and theatre hair and make-up. Access is on a single-user licence so contact LRC1 on 01903 273305 or wd.library@gbmc.ac.uk to reserve this resource and receive login details.

Digital Theatre+

450+ video and audio performances covering theatre, dance, opera and music over a wide range of genres.

Click here and sign in with your using MS 365 account <studentnumber>@stu.gbmc.ac.uk and your normal password.

You will need to be using the latest version of Google Chrome (released on 25 Oct) to view video content on DT+ from 6 Dec. Most devices using the Chrome browser will update automatically but if your device is not set to automatic updates you will need to update manually.
