Thanks to a partnership between Gaston County Schools and the Gaston County Public Library students now have access to the WOW Card, their own library WithOutWalls! This virtual card gives GCS students access to many helpful and exciting online resources via the Gaston County Public Library.

One School, One Book
For the 24/25 school year, the One School, One Book title was James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl.

Here are some of the things we did to enrich our reading experience this year:

We had a kickoff event with Ramsy, Classes answered daily trivia and received rewards, Staff all over the school volunteered to read aloud so students could experience the story audibly as well as visually as they read along in their own copies of the book, We had a book display students could select from curated to enhance understanding of the characters and setting, We received donations from Tony's ice cream of vanilla and peach ice cream, PTO sponsored themed rewards for a culminating celebration, and one of our very own (miss Tharpe) made t-shirts for the One School, One Book Committee.
