I previously taught eighth grade language arts at John Chavis Middle School. In Gaston County I participated in the Pinnacle Technology Leaders program and taught our school's yearbook class.

I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2015 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Middle Grades Education. While in college, I spent time in Costa Rica, teaching English as a second language. I also have my Master's Degree in Library Science through ASU.

I met my husband while in college, and we were married in the Fall of 2016. We live in Catawba County with our two dog-children, Zelda and Ellie. I love reading and spending time in the mountains whenever possible.
