Mission Statement
To provide diverse resources in an environment that promotes literacy and encourages critical thinking, curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning.
Policies and Procedures:
Students may only visit the Media Center with their class. ELA classes will visit the Media Center on a scheduled bi-weekly basis.
Students wanting to visit the Media Center outside of their scheduled time must first either email the Media Specialist or have their teacher email the Media Specialist before visiting the Media Center.
Students should enter the Media Center quietly and orderly.
Returned books should be placed on the circulation desk next to the check in computer upon arrival.
Students may have two books checked out at a time and may keep them for two weeks. Students do not have to check out two books, if they only want to check out one at a time, that is fine. Students participating in Battle of the Books or other reading programs may check out more than two books if they choose.
Books may be renewed once unless it is a popular series book, a high demand book, or a hold has been placed on the book by another student. This is up to the discretion of the Media Specialist.
There are no overdue fines for late books. However, students may have restricted check-outs until the overdue item is returned. Once a book is overdue for more than 60 days, it will be counted as lost.
Accidents happen but books that are lost or damaged beyond repair must be paid for by the person responsible. Replacement cost is a flat fee of $10. It is recommended that students report any damage they notice to materials they are checking out to the Media Specialist BEFORE leaving the Media Center so that it can be noted.

Please use a conversational tone of voice.
