This resource provides weekly graphs that you can use to build student skills. The topics and graph style change each week and a week after they post the graph, they post more information about the graph (after students have a chance to view and respond to graph questions).
This website provides inquiry design models for various social studies topics and events. Please note: these inquiries are not aligned to NC standards and my include topics not appropriate for your class. You may, however, find some great inquiry ideas to try on their site.
This is a list of primary sources that align with the American History standards. The sources are organized chronologically.
This resource provides lesson plans to teach the History of the Holocaust. This site also provides best practices for teachers to follow while teaching the Holocaust and genocide.
Civic Online Reasoning is a resource that can help you teach students to evaluate online information that affects them, their communities, and the world.
SHEG is a resource that can help you use inquiry to teach students the skills of a historian. Lessons on this site encourage students to evaluate sources and think critically before drawing conclusions.
iCivics provides lessons and games on civic literacy and American history. It also includes lessons covering basic economic and government systems.

This website has tips on using inquiry in the classroom. There are videos that model each aspect of the Inquiry Design Model and videos that explain how to build an inquiry culture in the classroom.
The New Visions site offers several resources for teachers, one of which is a micro-routine guide. Micro routines can be added to increase student engagement during teacher-led instruction.
Specifically for our Economic and Personal Finance Teachers, the NCCEE offers many professional development opportunities throughout the year centered around the NC standards of the EPF course.
