Past experience has shown that growth can be magnified by other like-minded professionals. For this reason, you are asked to identify another educator (or two) who is also applying to the fellowship. This built-in support system will serve as a mini-learning community to collaborate and reflect while holding one another accountable for your goals. Supporting Colleagues do not need to be in the same subject or school, nor do they have to have the same proposal goals as the applicant.
Applicants will answer 3 questions in a video format. Videos may be in an informal setting and do not need to include any special effects or supplements. This should be a time for your passion and personality to come through! Have a link available to include in your application. All three videos should total no more than 15 minutes.
Goals
What is your vision of personal growth as an educator? What area would you like to focus your time and effort to improve your practice?
Existing Research and Background Experience
What evidence exists that this plan will be successful and warrants pursuit? What books, articles, digital publications have prompted you to seek this path? What experiences have led you to these goals?
Proposal for Growth & Development
How will you accomplish your goals? What resources and experience(s) will you need to be successful? How do you expect this to impact students?
Budget
$1,500 grant/year for two years. This may fund conference registration, travel (for content experiences, to other school districts, to other schools within the district...), substitutes, subscription to publications or online resources, tools for classroom use...and anything else that would help you accomplish your goals. Feel free to be creative! Applicants' budget proposals should strive to outline actual cost as opposed to estimations and include links whenever possible.
Proposed Product
Educators become leaders through sharing. Delta Fellows will lead other educators in their growth. Applicants must propose how they will pay forward what they learn from this experience. Products may take the form of a digital publication (blog, ezine, website, etc.), webinar, video series, vlog, conference session presentation, cooperative group meetings, or any other way you can think of to share your growth to benefit other educators.
