Welcome! I am Amie Tucker, your ELA teacher. I am beginning my 15th year teaching, and I am so excited to be your teacher this year at Cramerton Middle School! Reading and writing are both so important to me, personally. I hope to help each student grow in reading and writing this year. I have taught every grade between 2nd and 12th grade, and by far, 6th grade is my very favorite. You are embarking on a new experience, entering 6th grade, and I am excited to be a part of your new adventure: middle school. I spent 7 years at Chavis Middle School from 2005-2012; 4 years at North Belmont Elementary School; 1 year at a private school; and I am now proud to have been a part of the Cramerton Middle School family since November, 2017. I am a graduate of UNC-Charlotte with a Bachelor's Degree in Arts, majoring in Psychology. I am also a graduate of Western Carolina University with a MA in Teaching, with a concentration in Special Education: learning disabilities and intellectual disabilities. I am also a National Board Certified teacher, Certified in AIG-Academically and Intellectually Gifted, as well as Google Certified Educator. I have taught students of all abilities, including academically and intellectually gifted, and I am looking forward to a wonderful 2019-2020 school year working with you!

Outside of school, I am a wife to my husband, Tommy, and a mother of three children - Clinten, Katie Claire, and Lexi (15, 10, and 3 years old). We have a sweet puppy, named Tank (who is only about 6 pounds, so don't let his name fool you!). My hobbies are spending time with my family, reading, watching movies, riding on our motorcycle with my husband, cooking and cake decorating, swimming, learning the best methods and practices of teaching, and going to the beach with my family. We also spend a lot of time on projects around our home. Our newest project is renovating an old RV. Check our our progress here if you would like to see!
