I've recently been teaching this version and dance to the classes in Guidance as a to put Positive thoughts in our head. This video is from youtube and published by the teacher in the video. It starts out....
"We're gonna have a good day, without a doubt..."
(This class is formally called Guidance).
I love having your student(s) in class. I have every student in class at least 1 time every 2 weeks. We do Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Most of the lessons come from a SEL curriculum called Sanford Harmony. Here are 2 examples of Social Emotional Learning:
Emotional: We started out the year being able to identify emotions based on looks. Next, we focused on trying to "Regulate our Emotions." An easy example of regulating our emotions is when we get mad or angry but we learn to calm down and not make a bad choice like calling someone a name, hitting someone, etc. It is ok to be mad, but not ok to make a bad choice that can cause consequences.
Social: The Social part is learning about topics like communication. Recently the 3rd and 4th grade students learned about communication "Bloopers" and "Boosters." Two communication BLOOPERS we make are Interrupting and Ignoring. Two communication BOOSTERS are Listening and Supporting.
