During this project students took inspiration from Japanese animation known as Anime/Manga to create custom pirate ships. Students first developed their concept around their flag and figurehead design. They used value to create a completed design.

Contour of My Shoe

Students demonstrated their understanding of contour and cross-contour lines by drawing their shoe from a 3/4 perspective. Emphasis of the shoe was created by the contrasting black and white shoe over top of a colored background.

Worm's Eye View Paintings

Students demonstrated their understanding of linear perspective from a worm's eye view, their ability to use watercolor, and a complementary color scheme.

Students had the choice between drawing a forest or a city, as if they were on the ground looking up toward the sky.

Tops of buildings and trees get smaller as they get closer to the vanishing point.
