7th/8th Grade Science

The 2017-2018 school year is off the a great start!

Science classes are learning about photosynthesis and cellular respiration. We are using what we have learned about cells and the scientific method to conduct experiments where students are growing their own plants in specific conditions.

See some pictures below of a scavenger hunt exploring photosynthesis and cellular respiration that we were able to do with our 1:1 technology!

See below for a few pictures of our edible cell models.

2016 - 2018 Our science classes are wrapping up our Journey to Mars Expedition. Students will be presenting their plan on getting to Mars and getting others to go with them at our Culminating Event on December 15, 2016!

The last part of our expedition is learning about rockets so that we can design the basic framework of a rocket that could take us to Mars. Below is a video where students were discovering the importance of Rocket stability. Students created paper rockets and tested different types of rocket fins to determine which fin would create a more stable rocket.
