2025 Competition Day Summary
On Saturday 15th of March, Girls in Code SEA proudly hosted our third annual coding competition centered around the theme of Women in STEM. This year, we welcomed over 140 participants from 30 different schools across 10 countries and 3 continents, making this our most diverse and inspiring competition to date.
The day kicked off at 10AM with a brief introductory ceremony on Google Meet where we outlined the format and rules of the competition. Participants were encouraged to use any coding language regardless of their experience level. More than just a mere competition, our goal this year was to bridge the gender gap in coding while fostering a passion for programming especially among younger girls.
The competition featured three levels – Beginner, intermediate and advanced – ensuring that participants of all ages and skill levels had an engaging and rewarding experience. Throughout the day, it was truly inspiring to witness the enthusiasm, curiosity and determination of every contestant as they tackled the challenges with resilience, asked insightful questions and pushed their problem solving skills to new heights.
