About Me.....

This is my 23rd Year at Garden City High School!!! Yep-- I love it THAT much! Before joining the staff at GCHS, I taught at Schoolcraft College, Detroit College of Business, and Dorsey Schools for a combined 6 years. My on- the- job experiences include Accounting, Human Resources, Sales, Retail Management and Tax Preparation for a variety of companies including Service Merchandise, Plante Moran, Robert Half (Accountemps), Sunrise Builders Inc., and H & R Block.
On the personal side...I am married to Alfonso Bommarito (40 years --but who's counting) and we have 4 amazing kids-- 2 of which graduated from Garden City High School-- and 4 grandchildren (so far).
And as for professional preparation... Eastern Michigan University bestowed Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Business Education with majors in Office Information Systems, Marketing, and Accounting. (Summa Cum Laude with Honors) I also have certificates from Microsoft in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel and from H & R Block in Tax Preparation. My current pursuit is for SPHR (Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources) and certified Project Manager.
I strongly encourage joining DECA ! (more info under Clubs tab) DECA is a Student organization for business students to encourage leadership through competition involving communication, activities, and projects in social settings and school/community outreach. Student clubs are available for 9th through 12th grades.
In 2019, I was honored to receive Teacher of the Year from Garden City PTSA! (An organization I strongly encourage you to join!!)
