This winter, Garden City Middle School will run an all-school book program called One School, One Book. Through One School, One Book, GCMS aims to build a Community of Readers.
This January, students will be asked to vote for one of three books. The book with the most votes will be this year’s One School, One Book winner.
This program is voluntary and participants will have to acquire their own copies of the selected book, however, everyone – students, teachers, and administrators are encouraged to follow along together. Parents are also encouraged to follow along and discuss the book with their children at home.
A recommended reading schedule will be posted on the One School, One Book website to help participants keep up with the reading at home. Participating students will respond to online discussion questions and are invited to a face to face book discussion to take place after school in late March.
The books to be voted on are below. More information will be posted to this page soon.
