Hi, I'm Asia Mench and I live in Galesburg, Mi. I previously have lived in Kalamazoo, but prior to this I have only lived in Michigan. I became interested in art because I wrote when i was growing up, and have always thought creatively; This was another way to express my creativity. I have taken a total of 4 art classes, and in all three I've tried to embrace the differences and tactics . I think my unique attributes are drawing controversial subjects, and having a dark to light theme. For instance, my painting, WoMen, is shown as a woman tied physically by a world that is seemingly against her. I often draw a lot of people, and like how abstract painting interact with drawings. Artists that inspire me are Georgia O'Keefe, one of the most famous female abstract artist, from paintings like Black Iris III, and other colorful, nature like paintings.
Reflection : This is an abstract piece that symbolizes how cluttered my mind is and how ideas mix together; kind of causing confusion and joy
Reflection : Its abstract inspired still but with a nature type twist to make you look at the painting in different ways
Reflection : I wanted abstract color and it reminds more of seeing the world through rose colored glasses. It is still a work in progress.
Reflection: I wanted to start something different so i chose something eye inspired to get a feel for it, since I suck a bit.
Reflection: Shoes? Yes.
Reflection: I wanted to play with color and branch out.
Reflection: I'm working on a french inspired painting and want to put a woman in the back because of inspiration i got from a french top ten horror stories list. It's supposed to give off chaos and disorder.
Reflection: It's okay. I don't care what other peoples opinions are on it. I like the colors.
Reflection: This is a continuation of Merlins original drawing, to make the scene more real.
Reflection: Art and English project of what music means to me.
Reflection : This is the most simple painting just because it's just my first and last name, but it has words to explain the mood i was in, and the colors change from the name to the background.
Reflection: This is Merlin from Disney's Sword in the Stone
It's not done but i really like how its turning out and its from the famous kitchen scene.
Reflection: She doesn't actually love me fyi
Reflection: Not been finished but the innocence of Micky mimics child like wonder and the creature holding him up in the box is a reflection of a judgmental society and world in general.
Reflection: I feel I could have done better on it but i like how the colors blend for the most part and that Micky looks like his signature innocent self.
Reflection: It is a work in progress but its supposed to be a Disney inspired child like wonder drawing of baby Mickey.
Reflection: This piece was a play on colors and a poor attempt at a Bob Ross tutorial. It reminds me of the north pole with the lights and snow, and a little bit of Christmas.
Reflection: A work in progress - American society and how angry and lost we all seem to be.
Reflection: I've been fixing the errors on the story since last Friday. Sorry I don't have something insightful
