Must be either hard of hearing or Deaf
Must be 17 years of age or older and attending an accredited post-secondary institution in the Fall of 2019 as first-time or returning students; or mature students, 19 years of age or older
Hearing loss of 50dB or greater in both ears
Community involvement
This scholarship is for students in any of the following fields: Early Childhood Education, Personal Support Worker, Nursing, Medicine, or Journalism
Contingent upon satisfactory grades
Directed towards students that are (a) returning from employment to finish their diploma, or (b) completing an additional degree in a professional or graduate program at a post-secondary institution in Canada.
Two scholarships will be awarded.
Must be either hard of hearing, deafened or oral deaf with the premise that all applicants use spoken language as their primary means of communication
Open to all post-secondary students; however, your location of residence will factored into the selection process
Does not focus on any particular field of study
Advocacy level of the applicant is taken into account
Enrolled in second or higher year of study in the area of Science and Technology and Trades
Must also display an interest in supporting activities to improve the lives of those who have hearing loss
Students entering their first-year, full time program at a recognized Canadian college or university in any area of study
Enrolling full time in a 1-4 year post-secondary program at a publicly funded post secondary institution in Canada
Must be a person with a disability defined as a functional limitation (permanent or episodic)
Financial need

Must have a permanent disability
Must be currently registered in and returning to a full-time program of study at an accredited Canadian post-secondary college or university. Full-time status is at least 40% of a full course load.

Demonstrated potential to be an outstanding participant in the community

Have disability-related educational costs for services or equipment that are not covered by another agency or service
Require these services/equipment to participate in post secondary studies
Deaf, deafened, hard of hearing students attending a post secondary school outside of Canada where the only or primary language of instruction of their program is ASL or LSQ
