GTTI Skilled Trades Institute Virtual Information Session

Join us for the GTTI Skilled Trades Institute Registration Open House. You’ll meet our Instructors and Program Coordinators. You can ask questions, talk about your goals, fill out your registration forms, and find out why the trades are a great choice for your next step!

No experience is necessary. Pick from our Cabinetry, Carpentry, Drywall, Electrical, Flooring, HVAC, Plumbing, and Roofing pre-apprenticeship training programs designed to give you knowledge and practical experience to lead you directly into employment opportunities.

Ongoing Open Registration for 2020-2021 Adult ESL, LINC & LBS Programs

English as a Second Language (ESL); Language Instruction for New Comers (LINC); and Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS) Classes

YRDSB offers Adult English as a Second Language (ESL) programs for those who want to develop effective language skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing for daily life in Canada. We also offer specialized classes in Citizenship and Conversation.

Adult ESL Program Registration – In person and online options available!

International and Indigenous Languages Program

The International and Indigenous Languages (IIL) program provides elementary and secondary students with the opportunity to speak, read and write a new language or maintain heritage language and culture. Due to the pandemic, International and Indigenous Language classes for SK to Grade 12 students will take place online, not in the school buildings. Teachers will teach live language lessons in real time using Google Classroom to provide both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities during the regularly scheduled language class.

Secondary Program Registration:

· Credit classes begin September 26, 2020. Secondary (Grades 9 to 12) IIL registration will not be accepted after the third class. Refer to our brochure for the most up-to-date information about class start dates and times.

YRDSB STUDENTS

· Please register on myPathway Planner before September 26.

· After September 26, please download the Registration Form​ and send it by email to international.languages@yrdsb.ca.

NON-YRDSB students:

· Please download the Registration Form​. Email the completed registration form to international.languages@yrdsb.ca. We will contact you for additional documentation if required.

· No consumable fees will be collected at this time.

NACCA is partnering with AFIWI Groove School to deliver Afiwi Roots & Revival which is funded by the Canadian Red Cross. This is a FREE four week virtual introductory dance program starting October 5th, Here is what to expect:

  • Week one: Afro Beats

  • Week two: Traditional West African Ghanaian Dance

  • Week three: Traditional West African Malinke Dance

  • Week four: Afro Caribbean Dance

The 45 - minute classes will take place on Monday and Wednesday evenings during two time slots. Mondays are reserved for children under 12 years old and Wednesdays are reserved for older youth.

Monday Classes - 5:30PM- 6:15PM

Wednesday Classes - 6:30PM - 7:15PM
