Project Week is part of your Grade 11 CAS programme (Creativity, Activity, and Service). You will embark on worthwhile projects, usually in a small group of four to six within Singapore or with pre-selected overseas outdoor education providers.
Project Week offers an invaluable learning experience the objectives of which are best achieved by doing a project outside the normal daily College routine. You independently organise your project based on the IB’s prescribed 5 Stages of CAS. The challenge of independent travel, provides the opportunity to develop your competencies in line with the UWCSEA mission.
The learning objectives include:
To encourage Responsibility self-awareness, environmental/situational awareness, understanding of risk
To equip individuals to Enact the mission to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and sustainable future
To develop new Skills including an awareness of the process and best practice protocols for organising safe travel
To encourage Self-Reliance resourcefulness, resilience, leadership, adaptability and flexibility, initiative
To create a sense of Teamwork working with others, negotiation, responsibility for others, intercultural understanding, collaboration
To achieve and work towards the essential 5 stages of CAS
To practise structured Reflection following an experience to maximise the learning and make connections with prior learning.
Project Week is an important outreach activity of UWCSEA. It offers us an opportunity to strengthen our connections across Singapore and SouthEast Asia, expand on our work with local partners, and live out our mission of building bridges between people and cultures. While participating in Project Week, you become ambassadors of UWCSEA.
