In yesterday’s HLP class, students did a role-play reading activity. They read the Chinese idiom story 《坐井观天》by characters.
After reading the Korean version of Three Little Pigs, students learned Korean vocabulary related to the story and built a play set based on the story.
In Cantonese HLP this week, students learn how to write red banners (揮春) in traditional Chinese characters and use red packets (利是封) to make lanterns (燈籠) for Chinese New Year (農曆新年).

Students learned about winter in Japan by reading about "Omisoka" and "Shogatsu". They had fun making three-color dangos. At the end, everyone tasted and said it was delicious.

Students learned the "four big inventions" of ancient China. They experienced block printing by printing a poem called 春晓 (Spring Dawn) in class.
This week in Chinese HLP, students learned how Chinese characters have evolved from ancient to modern days. They used hieroglyph - Chinese characters from ancient time - to illustrate a story and present their drawings to their classmates in Chinese.
