HLP is a paid programme for students who want to develop or gain fluency in a language spoken at home.
Students should be fluent speakers or be able to understand the language as classes will be conducted completely in the home language.
No. This programme is for students who speak this language at home (home language) or are culturally connected to it (heritage language).
Paid, weekly classes for students from K1 to G12 ($388 per season including GST and fees).
Classes are taught in groups of 3 to 6 students.
Classes are taught by experienced and qualified UWCSEA teachers.
We currently offer the following languages: Arabic, Bengali, Cantonese, Chinese (Mandarin), French, German, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Russian, Spanish, Tamil and Thai.
Please take note that we require a minimum number of students to open a class. If your home language is not currently offered in HLP, we invite you to fill in the expression of interest form.
For some HLP languages, we offer students the option to join HLP twice a week. This is known as HLP Model B. Currently, we offer Model B for French and Japanese from Grade 2 onwards.
Please fill in the registration form to help us form homogeneous classes.
There are 4 seasons in a year and each season runs for 6 to 9 weeks. Please check the HLP Calendar for sign up and season dates. Students are automatically rolled over to the next season.
