Before you can use Read&Write at home, you need to be logged into your College Microsoft Account (stu-000000@suffolk.ac.uk).
Screen Masking in Read&Write allows you to create a colour overlay if you have difficulty reading black text on a white background. It also includes a reading light that can make it easier for you to keep your place when reading.
The Text to Speech tool in Read&Write can read out text in a number of different voices.
The Audio Maker tool in Read&Write can make an MP3 file of any selected audio that you can listen to on any device.
The Screenshot Reader in Read&Write will read out any text from a screenshot.
Talk and Type in Read &Write allows you to speak into the computer and have your words dictated onto the document.
The Voice Notes tool in Read&Write allows you to record your voice and have this appear in the comments section of a Google Doc.
The Check It tool in Read&Write allows you to check your spelling by showing a number of options of what the misspelled word could be. It also links with the dictionary, picture dictionary and translator tools, so suggestions can be easily checked for context.
The Prediction tool in Read&Write shows possible words as you type. These can then be selected by clicking on them or pressing a keyboard shortcut.

The Collect Highlights tool in Read&Write can help you to maintain research notes from various sources with minimal effort. It creates a Google Doc with the highlighted sections and a link to the original source.
The Vocabulary List tool in Read&Write allows you to save a set of individual words from a website into a Google Doc with the definitions from the inbuilt Dictionary and Picture Dictionary tools.
The Simplify tool in Read&Write allows you to read web content in a way that suits you. It can change the format of the text and removes all unnecessary content, such as adverts. It can also highlight key words to show more definitions with images and/or animations to help give a clearer understanding of the text.
The Translator tool in Read&Write allows you to translate individual words into one of many different languages. It also works with the inbuilt Dictionary and Picture Dictionary for better comprehension.
Read&Write has a Search the Web tool that lets you quickly open a new tab with a Google Search that contains any selected text from the previous tab.
This tool allows you to practise reading aloud. You can then record your reading and send it to your teachers through Google. It also includes many of the other tools in Read and Write to allow you to read and understand the text better before attempting your recorded read.
