To thrive in your chosen field of work, you need the technical skills you will learn as part of your vocational qualification. You also need competence in English and Maths.
But employers are looking for more than this. The college consulted with local employers to find out what skills and attributes they wanted in their employees. Then we took what they said and worked on it to build our ePass model that helps you get set on the journey to build your employability.
ePass is a programme that helps you develop 5 key employability skills, and then to understand how to find opportunities and present yourself as well as you can to employers offering the jobs that interest you.
Access the College's ePass+ platform to find out more.
(Scroll down this page for more about how the platform works).
Complete all the programmes of activities on the ePass+ platform to come away with a certificate for your ePass+ Award.
There are six programmes, one for each ePass skill and one for career progression. Click on the icon for each skill on the main dashboard to find out what you need to do for that skill.
You will work through some of the activities during lessons.
To access ePass+, you need an internet connection and a web browser. Google Chrome is recommended.
You will need headphones to watch videos and listen to content. College PCs don't support bluetooth so you will need wired headphones to access the programme on a College PC.
You can access the content on a phone but we recommend you use the largest screen you have access too.
Remember you can always use a PC in the Learning Curves, where there are also a limited number of headsets available for use.
Log on with your College user name and password.
Click on College Student/ Staff on the log in page.
On a College PC, you should be logged straight in.
Elsewhere, you will be sent to a College log in page. Log in with your College account, not your gapps account. On the College log in page, your username is in the format stu-*****@ suffolk.ac.uk. Your password is your normal College password.
The display on the ePass+ platform can be modified to meet different needs.
There are lots of other resources available on the ePass+ platform, not just the ones in the programmes we have set up. These include:

You should find that the skills you learn also help you with your study programme.
Developing these skills does take time and is a gradual process. It isn't something to rush through. Try to keep reflecting as you go, noticing the impact as you do things differently, and thinking about what further changes you could try, and celebrating your progress as you go.
On the next page, you can find further guides on how to find the ePass+ programmes, how to upload a document to ePass+, how to see your progress and showing you the accessibility tools menu.
