About Us!

The Springfield High School Band program has a long and rich history of success and growth. We have 6 ensembles within the Band program! Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Pep Band, Jazz Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and Mariachi del Sol.

Our Director: Jonathan Bridges

Jon Bridges has received degrees in Music Education from Vanguard University of Southern California (BM) and the University of Oregon (MM). Jon has taught in Oregon for 11 years at both the middle and high school levels, with multiple groups qualifying for state level competitions and receiving high honors. Currently directing 4 curricular band classes, 2 extra-curricular ensembles, and 2 Mariachi classes, Jon has also served as director of the Eugene Springfield Community Orchestra and as a guest judge/clinician/presenter at multiple events throughout the state of Oregon. Most recently, Jon has been a regular presenter at the Oregon Music Education Association’s State conference, giving presentations on the merits and a “how-to” on starting a mariachi program in any school. Jon is a firm believer that music is a necessary and worthwhile pursuit for each and every student in his classes. Each day brings new opportunities to explore new musical boundaries and Jon thoroughly enjoys every minute of helping his students achieve their highest potential.
