Milk Dispensers

Right now Sartell Middle School has milk cartons, just like most schools. Some 7th grade students have been working hard to try and get milk dispensers for our school. If we do get these milk dispensers, we will be saving money, and reducing waste. Even though milk dispensers are expensive, they will pay off in time. We wouldn't have to buy milk cartons anymore, just the milk. we would also be wasting less milk. Students would be able to take as much milk as they wanted, the maximum being 8 oz., which is what the cartons hold today. Students who wouldn't want as much milk would take less instead of dumping the rest out. In order for us to get these milk dispensers, we also have to buy the plastic, reusable cups, and a table to put it on. We are renting a milk dispenser for the 2018-2019 year. This will be a very expensive project, and we will only be able to do it with your help.

Digital Breakout Box

A digital Break-out Box is a puzzle with many clues and locks. In order to unlock the lock, you have to solve the clues. This group of 7th graders have been working on making a digital breakout box for you. It has been hard for these students to find the right clues for this puzzle. If they are too hard, many kids will not be able to solve them, and if they are to easy, it would not be fun for the adults. Making a breakout box is very hard if you are making it for people of all ages.

Website

This group of students have been working hard to make this fantastic website that you are on right now. This group consists of many 7th grade students who are very hard workers, trying to perfect every single word on this site. They meet a couple times a month, along with all of the other groups, to work on this website to inform all of you about what we are doing in our school. It has been difficult for these students to organize every fantastic thing that Sartell Middle School has been doing. Everything on this website has been done by these students.

EDD Night/Fundraiser

EDD or Education Done Differently, is a night at our school where we set up presentations about what we are doing in our schools. Anybody can come to see these presentations. This group has been working on a presentation to inform our community about YES! This group is also working on fundraising money. This money will be put to the milk dispensers and the recycling bins. They are working with the milk dispenser group to help buy the dispenser, tables, cups, and all the different accessories needed for the dispensers. They also have to raise money for the multiple recycling bins we are buying.

Reducing Paper

This group of students have been trying to raise awareness of how much paper we waste in our school and community. We are trying to reduce paper in our school. They are doing this by hanging up a poster of a big tree cut in sections. Every time a teacher reduces paper, they get to color in one of the 200 sections. once all of the sections are colored in, there will be some sort of reward for the teachers. This is a great way to get teachers to reduce paper. They have gone through some difficulties with organizing all of their research that they have done on this topic.
