Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What grades can enroll in the FSCA program?

Students in grades K-12 are eligible for enrollment.

  1. When can a student enroll in FSCA?

For all grades we strongly recommend that a student be enrolled at the beginning of a marking period. However, these decisions are reviewed on a case-by-case scenario.

  1. Can you explain the options of enrollment?

Students in grades 7-12 have three options: full-time on-campus, full-time virtual, and hybrid. Please contact Mr. Sharp for more information concerning any of these options. Currently, students in grades K-6 may only attend FSCA as a full-time virtual student.

  1. How is the curriculum set up?

North Schuylkill partners with a virtual charter school called EdOptions/Edmentum. Edmentum will provide all of the curriculum for students throughout the academic year. Edmentum will provide a teacher of record that will be responsible for assisting students through the learning process. Courses are set up asynchronously, which means that students have flexibility in when they work on their assignments (they are not required to attend live lessons). Edmentum also offers live lessons, live tutoring, and a plethora of other resources to help students reach their full potential. Edmentum's curriculum closely matches what a student would receive at North Schuylkill. so it is a very seamless transition from North Schuylkill to FSCA or from FSCA back to North Schuylkill.

  1. What are the benefits of FSCA compared to other cyber schools?

FSCA offers a myriad of services that other cyber schools do not. First and foremost, FSCA students retain their North Schuylkill status. Students will have school services such as their guidance counselor and social worker. Students also have extra supports such as math tutoring from North Schuylkill, IEP teachers (if applicable), and the support of FSCA staff. Students are eligible to participate in all North Schuylkill activities such as sports, clubs, and other extra-curriculars (prom, formal, etc.). If a student graduates from FSCA, the student will receive their diploma from North Schuylkill.
