Olive cheung
Programme Leader, MA Arts and Cultural Enterprise (HK Cohort)
Olive Cheung has an interdisciplinary academic background in Humanities, Intercultural Studies, Sociology, Gender Studies and Public Health. She was a Postdoctoral Research Assistant of an international project about cosmetic surgery tourism at the University of Leeds, a Research Fellow at Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore (NUS), and was involved in a health promotion program for entertainment establishments in Singapore and a Postdoctoral Researcher of a project about modern Chinese family life at SOAS China Institute, University of London.
Nixon cheung
Nixon Cheung currently works as the Head of Commercial and Brand at Hong Kong Tramways, where he has rejuvenated and transformed the company in both branding and revenue means. With his outstanding effort in transforming and diversifying the company, he was hugely recognized as one of the four Hong Kong awardees of “40 under 40” for marcom, media and marketing industries. He is also a guest speaker at multiple radio channels, newspaper, magazines and a variety of industrial marketing summits to share the unprecedented marketing transformation he has brought to the company.
Under his leadership, the “Commercial and Brand” team that he oversees was named “Team of the year” by Hong Kong Business, and he was elected as one of the “Future Leaders” by the American Chamber of Hong Kong, “Innovator of the year” by Hong Kong Business, and was selected by Hong Kong Living as the Hong Kong Influencer awardee.
Recently, his inspiring case with the Tram company is being written as a marketing business case by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and will be included as one of the Harvard Business cases for the benefits of future marketers.
Leung po shan, Anthony
Leung Po Shan Anthony (梁寶山) is a Hong Kong artist specialized in installation and performance art. She worked as curator, editor and art critic. She was born 1974 in Hong Kong. Leung graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, majoring in Fine Arts and pursued a Masters of Philosophy degree there. She studied at the University of Leeds on a Hong Kong Arts Development Council Scholarship. Playing with images, texts and body in theater, performance and installation, she has been involved in many major exhibitions, both locally and internationally.
Vivian ting
Vivian Ting is an independent curator and researcher. Graduated from the history department at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, she did museum studies in the UK. Recently, she has been working with universities and art organizations to develop curatorial projects that encourage multiple narratives of local history, articulated through creative means. Her research interest focuses on cultural imaginations of diverse audience groups, and their cultural consumption patterns in considering how public life can be shaped in Hong Kong. She has been involved in various art projects, such as Envision Hong Kong (City University of Hong Kong, 2016), Sparkle! Neo Travel (Art Promotion Office, 2017) and Back to thy Roots for Sheer Happiness (Caritas Community Development Service, 2019).
Gary wong
Gary Wong is a lecturer (teaching and scholarship) in the School of Sociology and Social Policy at University of Leeds. He obtained his PhD from the University of Birmingham (UK), and both his Bachelor of Social Sciences (majors in psychology and sociology) and MPhil from HKU. He has been a as lecturer at Kingston University London, Chinese University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong and HKU Space Suzhou College.
He teaches a wide range of courses, including Asian popular culture, consumer culture, contemporary Chinese society, cultural heritage, globalisation, Hong Kong society, media studies, tourism and urban sociology, etc. His major research interests include cultural history of Hong Kong, Lefebvrian analysis, public housing, radio drama and social mobility. He also specialises in engaging community in course design and knowledge exchange projects.
Gary is active in Hong Kong’s creative industry. He spent some years in the public affairs consultancy and worked at Commercial Radio Hong Kong. He has been involved in editing and publishing of more than 50 books with culture and current affairs as key focuses. Alongside academic writing, he is an author of several books and a newspaper column contributor on cityscape and cultural issues in general.
Alvin yip
Alvin is founding partner and curator-in-chief of CIRCUS Ltd. He learns and practices across the fields of urban system and strategy, social innovation and entrepreneurship, cultural and creative industry, participatory design and public art.
Alvin also serves as Adjunct Professor and Vice Dean of City Design and Innovation at Central Academy of Fine Arts Beijing since 2016, after being a faculty member and later Director of Design Institute for Social Innovation at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2008 - 15.
He has lectured worldwide including the Royal College of Art (London), National Development and Reform Commission (Beijing), World Health Organization Western Pacific Region (Manila), Seoul Design Foundation, ONE Foundation (Shenzhen), TED amongst others.
He received his professional terminal degree from the Architectural Association London. Alvin was a winner of Hong Kong Institute of Architects Award 2007 and Rome Scholar 2004. He further received the Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award 2011, Forbes China Designer Award 2015, and Commendation for Community Service on HKSAR 2010 Honours List.
Alvin has been appointed board and committee member of Hong Kong Federation of Design Associations, Hong Kong Architecture Centre, Ambassadors of Design, PMQ, Hong Kong Art Museums, Hong Kong Stamps, China Architecture Media Award, Bi-City Biennale, Harbourfront Commission, Highway Department, Good Seed, HKCSS-HSBC Social Innovation Platform, UNESCO Sustainable Development Programme amongst others. He also co-founded Fashion Farm Foundation and Wan Chai Visual Archive.
Cally yu
Cally Yu (俞若玫), a Hong Kong-based Chinese writer and curator, with strong concern on cultural identity, gender, aging and body experiences, social order and public space. She published four novels and one book collected interviews on the topic of “freedom” and “independent” with 12 women. She also produces poems, theatre text, short stories, art critics, interviews, feature stories for local newspapers and magazines since 1997. First full length theatre production, The Trembling Ears (耳搖搖) was staged in 2013, presented by On and On Theatre Workshop. In 2012, she formed the art group, Grey and Green Pong Pong to advocate the concept on creative aging and curated different workshops and exhibitions as a art platform for cross-age conversation. She is also very experienced in teaching different level of art education programs and creative workshops.
