So much is new in Early Childhood! This year our class meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Our classroom has moved into the old computer lab next to the library. I am the new Early Childhood teacher with a new para. Our current para is Edgar native Kamryn Butt-she is always ready with a nurturing smile and love of students. My family and I live in Edgar and I have taught in multiple grades (4k-8) in multiple subject areas, including special education. I am super excited to join Edgar and work with our young students.
Early Childhood services are available for young children identified as having special education needs. Services are available beginning at age 3. Early childhood is supported by Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy as determined by the individual education plan.
Our class is working on: school routines and making new friends. We will be learning about fun themes like: Fall, Leaves, Apples and Pumpkins through play, sensory, music, and art.

Wow! One quarter in and so much to be Thankful and Grateful for. Some of our early childhood students receive wonder services from our Speech, Occupational, and Physical Therapists on a weekly basis. They are sharing us new sign language, skills and ways to communicate. Everyday is exciting to watch the growing and learning.
During November we will continue learning through themed activities like: Veterans day, corn, pinecones, acorns, cranberries, and lots of turkeys. We love music and movement and learning social skills. Our math will include sorting, shapes, and colors. Please remember to read with your child daily and include talking about numbers and objects and things all around you.
