The BCSD orchestra is.....

The Burlington Community School District Orchestra program begins in 4th grade and runs through 12th grade. In 4th grade, every student is given the opportunity to join orchestra. The orchestra instruments are: violin, viola, cello, and bass. Each student enrolled in orchestra is given a weekly 15 minute lesson during the school day. There are also group rehearsals and concerts throughout the year.

Meet your orchestra teachers!

Millie Comiskey

Mrs. Comiskey lives in Burlington with her husband Nate, their two daughters, Annabelle (12) and Alexis (7), and their dog Luna and cats Toby and Tom.

Mrs. Comiskey has been with Burlington School District for 20 years. She graduated with a Music Education degree from Augustana College in 2001 and a Masters in Music Education from Western Illinois University in 2011. Her primary instrument is the viola.

Mrs. Comiskey primarily teaches at Aldo Leopold, Grimes, North Hill, and Sunnyside.

Diana Wells

Ms. Wells lives in Burlington with her boyfriend Earl, their kids Lillian (7) and Landon (6), and their dog Vinny.

Ms. Wells has been with Burlington School District for 18 years. She graduated with a Music Education degree from Drake University in 2004 and a Masters in Education Administration from Western Illinois University in 2008. Her primary instrument is violin.

Ms. Wells primarily teaches and Burlington High School, Edward Stone, and Blackhawk.
