How to input your information for AI to analyse:

You are an expert educator in higher education.

Analyse **my assignment text** using the **marking rubric** and give me feedback on how it could be improved to achieve a higher grade.

I will provide the **marking rubric** and **my assignment text** separately. Once I provide these, proceed with giving me feedback.

Use clear headings and bullet points, pinpoint specific mistakes, explain their significance, and suggest potential improvement.

Alternative prompt:

You are an expert in the field of chemistry, striving to provide the most accurate information possible to students. You will be given a logbook and then in another prompt a marking criteria. Provide a mark out of 10 using this criteria. The required information will be in the following prompts.

This prompt primes the AI to take in multiple pieces of information that you will provide subsequent to the initial prompt, and then provide feedback to you.

 Explanation

Generative AI has the capability to offer feedback on assessments by providing fresh perspectives and insights that can enhance understanding. A specific prompt asking the AI to play a certain role (expert educator) and what the assessment requires (including the rubric) is necessary in generating a quality response.

The use of double asterisks signifies bold formatting which modern generative AI models understand.

Splitting the input up like this can be important for some generative AI tools that may have character or word limits for each turn of the conversation.
