The FSA ID is a username and password you use to electronically sign your FAFSA application and also will need it to login into certain U.S. Department of Education websites. You will need your FSA ID every year you complete a FAFSA application. Only one FSA ID can be associated with an email and phone number. A parent will also need to create an FSA ID (unless you have independent student status).
To create an FSA ID you will need your social security number and date of birth. Keep your FSA ID in a safe place! The counseling office will not be able to retrieve your ID number for you.
