Per our school policy:

·  If your child has a temperature of 100.5 or above, they must be fever free for 24 hours before returning.

·  If your child is vomiting, they must be free from vomiting for 24 hours before returning.

·  If your child has uncontrolled diarrhea, they must be free from diarrhea for 24 hours before returning.

·  If your child has strep throat, they must be on antibiotics for 24 hours before returning.

·  If your child has a bad cold with a very runny nose or bad cough, especially if it has kept the child awake at night, please do not        send your child to school.

·  If your child is needing medication before school to "get them through the day", please do not send them as they become            symptomatic during school hours and can still get others sick.

If your child becomes ill at school and I think your child is too sick to benefit from school or is contagious to other children, you will be called to come and take him/her home from school. It is essential that I have a working phone number where you can be contacted during the day and an emergency number in the event you cannot be reached.

Is it the flu?

You may have the flu or other serious viral infection if...

·  In addition to the sniffles or sneezing, you are suffering from a headache, fever, chills, body aches or severe cough.

·  It came on suddenly.

It's probably allergies or a cold if your only symptoms are sniffles, sneezes or a mild cough that came on gradually.

Helpful tips for staying healthy:

·  Frequent hand washing is the BEST way to prevent and combat the of germs! Wash hands often with soap and water or hand                    sanitizer.

·  Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or use an elbow or arm if no tissue is available.

·  Do not share drinks, food, or unwashed utensils.

·  Get plenty of rest, eat healthy foods, and drink lots of water and healthy drinks.

·  Avoid people that are sick and stay home when you are sick.

·  Disinfect surfaces that are prone to germs (ex. phones, keyboards, door knobs, toothbrushes).

·  Get your immunizations like the flu mist or shot. It's not too late!

These guidelines are meant to serve the best interests of all the children in our school as well as our staff members. If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call.
