Introduction
This art exhibition is the 7th exhibition by Lakar Wanita. Lakar Wanita is a commitment made by women lecturers of various disciplines from the Faculty of Art & Design, Universiti Teknologi MARA, collectively has experience exhibiting important issues since 2016. Ever since the group was formed, Lakar Wanita has consistently given artwork demonstration, conduct art talk, and actively involved with artistic activities, with excellent links to Creative Space, CMT Hub Galeri, Galeri Aswara UiTM and Balai Seni Negara.
In the year 2018, Lakar Wanita expanded our exhibition by inviting local artists to venture into the exhibition. In this showcase, we invited international artists from Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta, Indonesia to join this exhibition. Both Malaysian and Indonesian artists, along with their respective protégés joins in collaboration to bring messages about preserving the world. It is a good exposure to both universities to ensure a steady bond as we embark into the wider art scene. Now, in 2021, marks another milestone for Lakar Wanita to participate with lecturers of the same faculty from different campuses nationwide and collaborate with lecturers from Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta, taking Lakar Wanita to an international platform.
Despite the pandemic situation, Lakar Wanita held strong to their passion, to continue artistic activity and giving undivided commitment toward setting forth the very best ideas and continuing to evolve. To keep everyone safe during the pandemic, this show is exhibited virtually, in the hope that the world preservation ideas and messages reaches viewers locally and globally.
