Alexis Roberts - GMS Cheer
Alexis is an 8th grader at GMS and currently a member of the GMS Cheer Team. Alexis decided to try cheer this year for the first time and has shown incredible courage and growth so far. Her coach said, "She used to be one of the shyest girls on the team, but it has been amazing to watch her come out of her shell and grow in confidence." Alexis continues to push herself outside of her comfort zone, try new things, and become a stronger cheerleader and teammate.
Allie Lundy - GMS Volleyball
Allie is a 7th grader at GMS and currently a member of the GMS Volleyball Team. The MS Volleyball Team has continued their hot streak, with a 7-2 start to the season. Allie has been a solid leader for the team all season, running the offense from the setter position. Her coach said, "She had some amazing sets in the win against Fort Chiswell on Monday. Allie also works really hard to communicate on the court and keep a positive attitude."

Lifeguards
Teachers and Staff - a sheet has been shared with you that includes the names of students who are playing fall sports, their grade level, their coach, and their coach's contact info. If you feel contacting a coach about a student-athlete's behavior or performance in the classroom is necessary, please don't hesitate to do so. There has also been a gate duty sign-up sheet shared with you for the school year. If you work 4 gates, you earn a family pass or CYOW. If you work 8 gates, you get both!
Coaches - Please submit summaries and pictures of teams and/or individuals to georgeedmondson@galaxschools.us so that we can recognize those accomplishments. Please continue to not allow any student athletes to participate in games/meets/matches until they turn in their signed handbook page. In addition, please do not allow them to participate in any activity (practice or play) until you have a copy of their current VHSL physical.
Parents - Please return the signed athletic handbook form as soon as possible so we can get these student athletes on the court/field with their teams to wash out the competition. Please let us know if your student-athlete has participated and/or excelled in any athletics outside of school that we can recognize.
